I think my server's name in *** was ***. He had precisely the right manner to deal with an anxious soul such as myself. (Hackers had invaded my aol system and there were various things on my computer which I should never have signed on for over the years.
The service was very quick and I got my computer back the following day after I had told ***I needed it for work purposes.

Really nice service however disappointed that we paid £*** for a new battery for an old phone which Apple were offering for £***. We didn't realise until the day it was fixed, still SFI clearly knew and wouldn't price match once we informed them. This wasn't the first time we used them either so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a price match.

They give me they are extremely passionate about what they do and dvice is given accordingly.
I have been paying for years an online company to carry out repairs of which i know coming from a sales director background that Nobodoy wants to loose exsisting customers so thats were the good sales pitch comes in. They ask you a few questions about yourself ,very quickly assesing you as a customer an are able to tell if they want to they could sell you what they want rather than what you originally came in for..
Regards this company i found them the opposite ,noticing software i had purchased and pay an annuall fee when in fact i dont need them.YES there are many consales peoples out there.
He also mentioned two important componants on the mother board that were deactivated and that any good engineer worth his salt ,pardon the pun would know and pick up straight away this issue just as he had done .Now my Laptop i know is in this day and age very old as technologie is advanxing so quickly.
I exolained that i have a newer lamtop at home but keep this one fir just basic stuff looking at paperless billss for example and managinging all my accoints on line.
Its not used for livstreaming films or games its used dor doing basic stuff off which he told me that the system was nolonger able to accept any updates from microsoft ,well i actually new that but proved he was being honest with me.
My laptop is still currently with them so i dont have the repaired product back from them yet.
I fully understand that running all the various tests and tasks can be Time consuming more so with an plder operating system. But the gettleman assured me that althoufh my laptop was or is approx 16+years old he assured me that it was still very capable of doing the tasks i require of it to do.
Honesty is all that i expect to here and not a sales bluff using you and i our lack of knowledge as a tool to creating bigger sales for them.
I informed gim that i had the motherboard replaced and more memory installed and the battery replaced which i thought were all pretty much basic things that would need replacing ,after time as not everything is made to last forever.

I brought my 6-year-old computer into the local Simply FixIT shop to have its RAM increased as I was unable to use a particular program that I use almost daily, to have the machine speeded up with a solid state drive, and unnecessary items removed. The work was described to me beforehand, carried out much more quickly than I had expected, new anti-virus software added and I was back up running with a rejuvenated machine that performed like new far more quickly than I had expected. It was important to me that I was not involved in the hassle of buying a new machine and wasting time loading replacement programs (I'm too old for that); what I needed was a repair to a machine that had given good service and which would continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Yes it cost me some money but I reckon the work is saving me time and was worth while. I am grateful to SimplyFixIT for simply and efficiently fixing it after lengthy telephone calls to remote program providers had not achieved the result necessary. Thanks SimplyFixIT!

I was having problems from a recent Windows 10 update and could not access my photo albums. My laptop was also running very slowly. Action would be taken to regain access and a back-up would also be done on an external hard drive that I provided. It was recommended that a new internal hard drive would give me more speed. Expensive to have Windows 10 re-installed, however, and I wish there was some way Windows could be made to pay for it! Lap-top not quite recovered its previous condition but that is not the fault of this company I don't think? (maybe they could include a session in front of the computer with hapless customers?) The service was excellent in that I was kept informed of the status of the machine. However, because the scanner used did not detect the files, I was told they were lost and a re-install as original would be necessary. In the end if was not because the staff noticed something in the memory, and all files were restored. But it was an anxious two days waiting to know.

The display on my 7y-o iMac27 suddenly stopped working, thereby aborting start-up. Called Simplyfixit's local branch, was invited to bring the beast round for inspection. Immediate, very clear and non-technical diagnosis (confirming my own suspicion). Accepted option of a 're-worked' component (obsolete Mac-model ) and authorised repair. Was kept updated on progress and advised as soon as complete. Not cheap, but that was down to the Part - excellent friendly service; highly recommended.

In my case it was that the PC refused to recognise the printer whatever I did. So printer and PC had to go to shop to be sorted! This was done the same day which I was glad of.

When I bought my replacement computer, I was happy with what was offered but what transpired was not as promised with a result that the finer setting up of the computer have taken much longer than anticipated. I now realise that I'm going to be trying to rebuild my monzilla email address book for a long time and would have been obliged if this had been pointed out at the purchase point. The move from windows 7 to 10 has also been difficult and some tutoring (as promised) would have been helpful.

I have been using Simply Fix It for many years now and have been satisfied or happy with them on each occasion.
This time I bought a new Lenovo laptop for my daughter and the only complaint (minor one) that I have is that the sound quality on the device is very poor. On further research I found that this is a common complaint with Lenovo as they only have one speaker (and a poor quality one at that). Therefore it is not possible to listen to stereo. It would have been useful if this had been pointed out. Unfortunately when I left messages with Simply Fix It they did not contact me, but I was impressed with A.J. as I eventually went into the shop and although he could not help with the Lenovo speaker he was able to find a pair of wired speakers, which my daughter could use. So a big thank you to him.

Excellent service had been unable to back up over 20,000 photos and 1,000 videos to the cloud as my Mac old and very slow. Handed Mac in and everything including documents all done in a few days. Would definitely recommend I am very pleased with the service and can access all the photos and videos on my iPhone which downloads very quickly so pleased with that. Request was to replace an iPhone 6S screen.
There wasn't a replacement screen in stock, but I was advised Mon or Tues for the part to be stocked. However, when I went in on Wed, still no screen in stock.
This is poor service for a number of reasons:
- I'm surprised this was out of stock in the first place, I'd have thought this would be a regular replacement request?
- No phone call to advise my phone hasn't been fixed by Tues.
- Still not in stock by Wed pm.

Standard price for repairs (£*** exc. parts) is totally extortionate and prohibitively expensive prompting customers to seek more viable alternatives. Used to be £*** and whilst this was very expensive was very occasionally just required. At £*** under no circumstances would this be actioned.

On the whole the repair/service was carried out well, to time. The only issue - which was essentially minor (although I couldn't work out how to fix it) - was that the machine came back with the American set-up keyboard. This was promptly fixed on a return visit.

I would recommend this company as they were friendly and local to myself. The only issue I has was that I put my ipad in for fixing on a Friday early afternoon and it wasn't booked into their system until the following Tuesday, this therefore delayed the time it was in for repair (I was originally told that it would be fixed within the week and it was the following week again that I got a call to say it was ready for collection).

I was charged £79 for an initial assessment of an intermittent fault. The PC was taken in on a number of occasions including changing the hard drive. I paid another £75 pounds for this. My money was refunded when this failed to fix the problem. The original fault was never fixed and the computer when returned did not function at all.Not only was the fault not diagnosed but the PC now does not even switch on. Waste of time and money.

good service provided by nice people. But I do wonder if perhaps they are working under pressure by not having enough staff backup. They do a great sjob but perhaps fail to check some of the less important items due to time pressure. If they are checking a system over and add an item to the computer they make sure the new item works but forget to see if that new item effects other programmes or access points.

The computer & iPhone repair industry has become increasingly competitive over the last couple of years, with many new start ups entering the market.
Unfortunately, some companies have chosen to trick customers into believing that they are something they are not, by making unbelievable claims as to their credibility. With a little research, customers can avoid a dodgy repair and wasting time and money with these companies.
Question 1 : How long has the company been around?
There are some repair businesses that make claims to having 5 to 10 years experience, yet have only been around for a few months. A quick business name search can tell you when the business was established. Since we started as Ideal Computing in 1996 we've seen a lot of companies come and go.
Question 2 : Are there any independent reviews?
Happy customers will leave reviews and recommend others. It is interesting to see that many of our competitors who claim to have been around for years and have done thousands of repairs do not have a single person who has written a good thing about them. Check independent review sites such as Yelp, or eKomi and other forums to see if anyone has had a good (or bad) experience with your repairer.
SimplyFixIt customers have left over 2,700 reviews on Google through independent feedback collector eKomi and lots more comments can be found on independent forums.
Question 3 : How many repairs have they really done?
Some companies, which are only a few years old, are claiming 10,000 to 40,000 repairs. If you do the maths over how long they have been trading, some of them must have their technicians doing over 200 repairs a day. SimplyFixIt is the only local company dedicated to repairs with over 30 full time technicians. We have completed over 100,000 repairs to date (correct at July. 2016), and are the preferred repairer for over 300 schools and businesses around Edinburgh.
Question 4 : Is it Cash Only?
Some businesses are not registered for VAT and only accept cash. While this arrangement has its obvious tax benefits for the business and possibly their pricing, you have to ask yourself whether they will be around to honour their warranty if anything goes wrong. These businesses are focused on short term benefit and may not be looking too far ahead. These businesses tend to pop up one day and disappear a little while down the track.

There are many repair businesses with flashy websites filled with false claims designed to make them seem legitimate. We encourage customers to look beyond the website and spend a couple of minutes doing a background check to see what experiences other customers have had, and whether the claims made on the website are true. A business that makes false claims may not be entirely honest when it comes to looking after your laptop or phone that has a lot of confidential information and photos on it.
