About this model
The iPhone 11, a smartphone engineered, created, and promoted by Apple Inc., represents the 13th generation in the iPhone lineage. Succeeding the iPhone XR, it was revealed on the 10th of September 2019, along with the iPhone 11 Pro, at the Steve Jobs Theatre nestled within Apple Park, Cupertino. This grand unveiling was conducted by none other than Apple's CEO, Tim Cook. Preorders for this device commenced on the 13th of September 2019, and the official launch took place on the 20th of September 2019, just a day following the public release of iOS 13.
While it's exterior bore only minor modifications from its predecessor, the iPhone XR, significant transformations took place internally. This included the incorporation of the more robust Apple A13 Bionic chip, as well as an ultra-wide dual-camera system. In a move towards sustainability, Apple discontinued the inclusion of both Apple EarPods and the wall adapter in October 2020, citing environmental objectives.
As of March 2022, the iPhone 11 has clocked up worldwide sales of 159.2 million units, thus securing its position as the tenth best-selling smartphone ever.
Following the announcement of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro on the 7th of September 2022, the iPhone 11, along with the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 Pro with its Max variant, were retired and subsequently removed from Apple's official website.
