Updating the software

We always recommend that you back up your iPhone before you do this. I personally prefer to back up with iCloud, but if you have limited space, you can connect your iPhone to a computer or Mac and back up to iTunes.

TOP TIP

Before you download and install the update, we recommend plugging in your iPhone to charge and connecting it to WiFi. You don't want to the power to run out halfway through or the large download file size to eat up your data allowance for the month.

Once that's done, go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

iPhone

Once you're there, tap Install Now.

If you see Download and Install rather than Install Now, tap that. You may need to enter your passcode and then leave your iPhone for a short while to download the package.
