If you are looking to unlock your Huawei Smartphone, then you’ve come to the right place. Whether you have come to the end of your current contract and wish to change your Network provider, or you have purchased a second-hand Huawei Smartphone, we will show you how you can continue to use your handset with any network of your choosing.

There are many unlocking options available to you including your current network provider. But we have found the most reliable on the market to be MobileUnlocks, unlike your network prover they won't make you jump through hoops in order to achieve the unlock on your device, its simple.

Whoever your current service provider is, you can guarantee they won't want to lose you as a customer, this is why when you purchase a smartphone they are always locked to that specific network, network providers hope that by placing this barrier on your device, they will prevent you from switching to a new network. Thankfully, we aren't limited to them as our only option for unlocking our Huawei smartphones.

Why choose to unlock your Huawei Smartphone?

Unlocking your Huawei phone has many benefits, not only does it open you up to all the best SIM deals on the market, but if you choose to sell the device, you will be able to earn that little bit more than you would for a device locked to a specific network.

More and more of us are realising that we can also save money when switching SIM cards abroad. Using a local SIM card when on holiday or travelling for business can bring your usage costs down by as much as half. Another great reason for unlocking your Huawei smartphone.

Is it legal to unlock a Huawei Smartphone?

This question comes up a lot, and the reason people assume that it is illegal to unlock a Huawei device, is because the network providers don’t advertise it, they want you to think that it's not an easy option for you, this way they have more chance of you remaining a customer with them. But it's simply not the case, there are no laws that make it illegal for you to unlock a mobile device, you are 100% within your rights to do so.

Can my Network provider refuse to unlock my Huawei Smartphone?

Yes, this is why we and many others choose the quick and easy way to unlock mobile devices by going elsewhere. MobileUnlocks will unlock the device for you, no questions asked. Your Network provider on the other hand has no obligation to do this, and there are many factors they can use to excuse this decision. Your Network provider is likely to refuse the unlock if you are still within your contract with them, if you have any outstanding bills, if the phone has at any point been registered as lost or stolen and if you don’t meet their requirements for an unlock code. These barriers are not only frustrating but time consuming.

There are three main steps to unlocking your handset.

  1. Step one is to check whether or not the handset is actually locked to a specific network, there’s no point going any further if the phone is already unlocked.
  2. Step two is locating your IMEI number.
  3. Step three send your IMEI number to MobileUnlocks.

Check if the handset is locked

There is no great technical way of doing this, it's as simple as checking the Huawei device with different Sim cards from different Network providers. Sim cards are very cheap to buy these days, and most mobile retailers will give you one for free. Make sure to try a few different networks, as some networks will work alongside another in a locked phone. If your Huawei device is locked, you won't be able to locate the signal bar. You might also see an error on the screen, such as ‘invalid sim’ or ‘no connection’. Be sure to restart the device while trying the new Sim cards. You can also try making an outgoing call, if this fails to connect, the phone is most definitely locked to a specific Network.

Locating the phones IMEI number

Every smartphone in the word has a 15-digit IMEI number, this number is unique to every single device. To locate the IMEI number on your Huawei smartphone choose one of two ways.

Option one, you can find the IMEI number by swiping down the notifications bar and selecting the settings icon, scroll down and then select about phone, tap on status, then tap IMEI. Take a note of the number to use later at MobileUnlocks.

Option two is the simpler of the two options, open your keypad and type in *#06#, this option works on almost every Android smartphone.

Now you should have all the information you need to achieve the unlock on your Huawei phone. All you have to do now is head over to MobileUnlocks, select the type of device you want them to unlock and enter the IMEI number.
