I never met Eric Meyer, but we used some of his code on our website. I read his blog often, looking for tips & tricks on web design and coding. Last year he mentioned on his blog that his five year old daughter was sick. She had cancer. On – her 6th birthday – Rebecca Meyer died. As the father of a young daughter, I cannot imagine what her family are going through.
On Thursday, the , Rebecca will be buried. Purple was her favourite colour – just like my daughter, and I guess a lot of 5 and 6 year old girls. Purple can be expressed in the hexadecimal language of web design as #663399. Some people had the idea of using the Rebecca's favourite colour in a hashtag and a lot of people have changed their social media icons for the same reason.
Internet: Let's get #663399Becca trending for Thursday 12th – For https://twitter.com/meyerweb/status/475423495178838016 – http://meyerweb.com/eric/thoughts/2014/06/09/in-memoriam-2/— Matt Robin (@mattrobin140s) June 9, 2014
