Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm™ stamp prices do NOT normally include VAT.
However, when you add the fee (for consequential loss, guaranteed Saturday delivery, or both), the TOTAL price IS liable to VAT.

What is the latest acceptance time when posting Special Delivery Guaranteed™ items?

When you want the earliest available delivery time, follow these guidelines.

Because you’ll need to get a certificate of posting for your Special Delivery Guaranteed ™ item, the lastest acceptance time depends partly on the Post Office® you choose to use.

Check opening times using the Post Office® Branch Finder.

To be on the safe-side please allow:

At least an hour before the Post Office® closes.

No later than 4.30pm even if the Post Office has a later closing time.

No later than 11:00am if the Post Office has a half day closing time.

Ask for further advice in person at your Post Office®.

How will I know it’s been delivered?

Can I get a refund if my item is not delivered on time?

Yes. Please keep your proof of posting receipt. If your item is not delivered on time we’ll refund your money providing you have your proof of posting and claim within 14 days of posting. If your item gets lost or damaged while it’s in our care, you can make a claim for compensation or consequential loss.

Can I claim compensation if my item is damaged or not delivered?

Yes. Compensation for loss or damaged items must be claimed in writing within 80 days of posting. You should include your proof of purchase receipt and evidence of the item’s value.

What size and weight can my Special Delivery Guaranteed™ item be?

Maximum weight limit for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am items is 2kg.
Maximum weight limit for Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm items is 20kg.
Maximum dimensions for any Special Delivery item is 61x46x46cm.

Can I have something delivered on Saturday?

For a small fee, Post Offices throughout the UK will accept your items on Friday for 9:00am* or 1:00pm delivery on Saturday. Saturday delivery cannot be accepted for some businesses including:

Can I buy consequential loss coverage?

Sometimes the damage, delay or loss of an item can lead to greater loss than the actual value of the item itself. For such items you can buy our consequential loss cover of up to £10,000. This cover could be a wise choice for important legal documents or tax returns that may result in penalties if lost or not delivered on time. Just ask for consequential loss when you send your item by Special Delivery Guaranteed™. Make your compensation claims through our Customer Services within 14 days of posting. You’ll need to include the receipt for purchase in order to file the claim
